GREECE, N.Y. — One individual is dead after an officer-included shooting in Greece, as indicated by police.
Greece Police Chief Patrick Phelan says a man called 911 asserting he was going to slaughters his significant other.
Police landed to the home on Betwood Lane, off of Long Pond Road, close Greece Athena High School around 2 a.m.
The man outside the home pointed a long weapon at police. Police say he declined to put the weapon down, officers at that point shot and murdered the man.
“In the event that an officer has a gun pointed at him, he is under the danger of fatal physical power, the reaction to that is dangerous physical power,” Phelan said. “That is the main proper reaction to being given risk of destructive physical power, sadly. What that individual’s expectations were — we may never know.”
Police say the man’s significant other was snoozing at the time and that the officer associated with the shooting is a two-year veteran of the power, who is OK.
Phelan says police are withholding names as of now.
Phelan says the officer included was the main officer display at the scene at the season of the shooting.
The Chief says that throughout the years there have been various calls to that house, however nothing considerable. Phelan included that beside the resting spouse, there was nobody else at the home.
